What makes Tirunelveli Manoharam unique?
Although Manoahram is a well-known sweet, especially as a part of Seer Bhakshanam, the Tirunelveli Manoharam is a regional specialty due to its different ingredients and way of preparation from the regular Manoharam sweet. The Murukku part of the Tirunelveli Manoharam is made up of Gram Flour or Besan, also known as Kadalamaavu in Tamil where 90% of it is Kadalamaavu and 10% Arisi Maavu (Rice Flour). Further, the traditional syrup of Jaggery is added to blend it to the perfect sweetness. The usage of Kadalamaavu in its preparations, adds to thicken the texture of the Murukku within the Tirunelveli Manoharam.
Deserves to be a mandatory item in the Seer Bhakshanam
Seer Bhakshanam majorly targets presentation, as it is going to play a key role during celebrations and occasions. Thus, to present the pair of cone-shaped Paruppu Thengai Koodu, the Tirunelveli Manoharam would top the list.
