100% pure wood pressed chekku groundnut oil is made from oil rich groundnut kernels in the traditional oil press made from the Vaagai tree in the time-tested method without the addition of any preservatives. WHY CHEKKU OIL?
When oil is extracted in modern machinery it generates high amounts of heat. Cold pressing is a technique in which the oil is mechanically pressed from the seeds at temperatures not exceeding 120F. The nutrients, which are usually destroyed by heat while refining, are retained in this method. Pure cold-pressed oil is not refined, processed or deodorised. The Chekku made out of the Vaagai (or) East Indian Walnut tree absorbs the heat produced during oil extraction.
